Log in instructions and information about the steps in the process will be sent via UMHB Sadermail. Make sure you are checking your Sadermail account regularly.
You will be able to search for available rooms online in what is a "real time availability" system. Any room that is available will be displayed for room selection. Rooms not visible will be blocked for other uses by the Residence Life Office.
Housing selection is an online process.
Read the information about each step in the selection process. Be sure to contact the Residence Life Office at (254) 295-4590 or at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about how you will participate and secure housing for next semester.

Apartment Eligibility: Exceptions to the apartment eligibility policy (have 48 hours or be 21 or older) is based on overflow or documented medical necessity. An overflow is anticipated for fall and all current residents will be able to select an apartment space if one is available.
Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus unless they meet at least one of the criteria listed below.
- Living with parent, guardian, or spouse
- Over the age of 21
- Completed 48 hours
- Enrolled as a part-time student
Any freshman or sophomore who is not eligible to live off campus but wishes to do so must submit an Application for Permission to Live Off Campus form. These forms are available in the Residence Life Office, Suite 2220, 2nd floor of Bawcom Student Union.
In order to be eligible for assignment, you must be in good standing on your student account. Anyone with a hold could be blocked from selecting space during Step Two. Check with the UMHB Bursar’s Office about your account status before the housing selection process opens if you have any questions about your standing.
To submit a housing application and occupancy license, you must be enrolled as a UMHB student and be a current resident. Undergraduate students are given first priority for housing but graduate students may be considered if space is available. All students living in campus housing are expected to be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester of occupancy.
UMHB policy states that you must be 21 years of age or older or have a total of 48 hours to be eligible to live in campus apartments. Exceptions are made to this policy based on documented medical necessity or anticipated overflow. An overflow in housing is anticipated for Fall 2019. For medical necessity, you must go through the accommodations process. Contact Nate Williams, the director of Counseling, Testing, and Health Services. That office is located on the third floor of the Mabee Student Success Center. Students with approved accommodations typically are given an early time slot for housing selection. In order to get an early time slot based on an accommodation, the accommodation process needs to be completed by March 10. Check with the Residence Life Office to ensure that documentation is on file if already submitted for a prior semester.
