First Year Residential Experience
What is FYRE?
The First Year Residential Experience (FYRE) at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is a program designed to ease freshmen into college life by offering a variety of residentially based programs, activities, and support for the first year resident.
We want your first year at UMHB to be one of the best years of your life and a year that will translate into a successful graduation as a University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusader!
The RAs who work with first year residents have participated in the standard training that all RAs receive, but have also learned about the issues and challenges facing freshmen and how to help students navigate them. They will be planning programming, keeping you informed about resources such as tutoring, and meeting with you individually to ensure that your transition to college life is going smoothly.
