To the Ends of the Earth
Since graduating from UMHB in 2002, Elijah Brown has pastored a church and earned a doctorate of divinity from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. After helping to launch the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative to advocate for international religious freedoms, he was named the general secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, making him the youngest person and the first Texan to ever hold that role. In that role, Elijah advocates for social justice and helps promote sound theological teaching among every member of the BWA. "Without question, UMHB was deeply formative in my theological convictions, academic preparation, and leadership molding.
