Information for Parents

Knowing that your child is being taken care of can make it a little easier to send them off to college. We are here to give your students the support, opportunities, and resources they need to develop as creative and critical thinkers. UMHB is consistently recognized as one of the best liberal-arts colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, yet remains one of the most affordable private universities in the South.

New Cru Orientation

New Cru Orientation is UMHB's official introduction to campus for incoming undergraduate students. Whether entering UMHB from high school (incoming freshmen) or from another college or university (transfer students), accepted students will have the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions to help them transition to UMHB. During orientation, students will also be advised and registered for classes. The first year of college is a season of change and transition for both students and parents. For most parents, the adjustment of no longer having their child at home can be tough. Combining that feeling with the financial aspects that come with someone attending college, parents often realize any resource that can be helpful is welcomed, and at UMHB, we hope to provide support to parents and family members at and after orientation!
