Criminal Justice | Degree in Criminal Justice

Criminal justice degree at UMHB is based on the concept of a global community. Students are encouraged to explore the various aspects of the criminal justice system to prepare for either an entry-level position or graduate school. Courses and the student associations are designed to provide an incorporation of “hands-on experience” to enhance learning. In addition, students are fortified in and out of the classroom with continual peer support and mentorship from students and faculty.

Why study criminology at UMHB?

UMHB offers unique experiential learning under the supervision of active and retired experts in the field. Faculty members are experienced practitioners in policing, investigations, law, and corrections.

Students who are interested in improving their research capabilities present papers and participate at a regional criminal justice conference each fall. Student qualifying for membership in Xi Omicron, the UMHB chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society, have additional opportunities to participate at the organization’s national conference in the spring semester.
