Data Backup FAQs

Yes! All backup data remains on the UMHB network and is stored on secure UMHB servers. All data is encrypted during the backup process, and while it is stored on the servers.
Your information will be backed up every 8 hours and whenever you logoff of or shut down your computer.
All daily backups will be retained for 7 days, weekly backups are retained for 3 weeks, and monthly backups are retained for 3 months.
Currently, there is no limit to the amount of information you can backup. If we see a large surge in data, we may implement limits.
Currently, only your main computer will be backed up. If you also have a laptop, we can configure it to backed up upon request.
Don’t fret! Contact the Help Desk for assistance. Documents from the most recent backup will be restored to your repaired or replaced computer.
