School of Exercise and Sport Science
The School of Exercise and Sport Science provides distinctive academic programs which prepare undergraduate and graduate students to engage in healthy behaviors and active lifestyles throughout their lives and pursue exciting careers in the dynamic sport and fitness industry. The school’s state-of-the-art Human Performance Lab offers myriad opportunities for students to participate in undergraduate and graduate-level research, and the school’s dedicated faculty members serve as both teachers and mentors to their students. All are dedicated to the mission of helping students prepare leaders in public and private schools and sports-related industries, who will demonstrate service to others and model faith-informed decision-making.
The curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers in fields that lead to becoming an exercise physiologist, a coach, an athletic director, or working in the field of sports marketing or as a strength and conditioning specialist. EXSS majors also obtain the educational foundation to pursue advanced degrees in related fields necessary to pursue a career as a sports agent, physical therapist, an exercise physiologist in the field of cardiac rehabilitation, or sports psychologist, to name only a few. Opportunities are wide open with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science!
The experience I had was one based on community. I did not realize how important it was to have friends who push you to follow Jesus better on a daily basis. This is something I still carry with me today.
