All Computer Science and Engineering majors have opportunities to participate in undergraduate research. Faculty members are currently working with students on projects in the areas of LINUX operating system applications, alternative energy solutions, and the development of autonomous quadcopters. Students are involved in all phases of these projects, from planning and design to the actual creation of final products.
Students are also encouraged to pursue research in areas that hold special interest to them. Working individually or in groups with faculty mentors, students conduct research on a wide range of topics, from virtual reality apps and advanced robotics to the simulation of neural responses to auditory stimuli and the use of 3D printers to create prosthetics. Participating students can showcase their research results in poster sessions open to the entire campus community on Scholar’s Day, which is held once each semester in the Bawcom Student Union.Learn More
