Pizza PieRos is a small restaurant on Northeast St. selling homemade wood-fired pizza and other goodies.
Starting as a food truck in 2018, Pizza PieRos, run by Robert Daniell, has blossomed into a successful family-owned business and has added a permanent location in Belton.
"We started about six years ago as a food truck then we eventually had the opportunity to get into the building here so now we have this and the food truck," Daniell said.
Some of the pizzas they sell are their carnivore, a take on the meat-lovers' pizza; the Baja Chicken Pizza, one of their most popular Buffalo Pizzas; and the classics, such as cheese and pepperoni.
The Bells staff visited their location to try out their wood-fired pizza, and Bells writer Bradley Melchor gave his review of it.
"I would say, as a professor of pie, I would give this pizza an 8 out of 10. It felt very homemade and fresh, unlike other places," Melchor said.
One of the most intriguing things about this family business is its pizza oven. When patrons walk into the marketplace, they will see a pizza oven painted bright red with black horns on top.
"Well, we built our oven, the same oven we have in our food truck, and I get them from a guy out in New Jersey who imports them from Italy. They are kits with what you get on there, and once it is put together, my daughter is the one who paints it," Daniell said.
To check this place out, people can find their food truck location on their website or go down to 201 N East Street, where their brick-and-mortar location is next to Katz Deli and across from Z&H Old Fashion Candy.
