This past Thursday the Campus Activity Board (CAB) held a school wide event at Summer Fun Water Park. The event was hosted by Summer Fun Water Park where students got their chance to beat the heat, ride waterslides, and float on the lazy river.
Many students loved the event, like Junior Engineering major Tony Rath. “So much fun. I went on the lazy river, I went on the slide like five time, it been fantastic,” Said Rath
This is the fourth year the CAB has run the event and the University has been working hard to put the event together. Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership Steve Villalobos helped in the planning and execution.
“We ended up planning this for weeks out and we tried to go ahead and plan events,” Said Villalobos
With so much going on many students had a hard time picking their favorite activities. This, coming after the first two weeks of school, gave students a chance to relax and take their mind off the stresses of school. Junior education major Jessica Johnson was one of those students.
“So I think that this is a good way to help alleviate any stress, be able to relax and not even think about all your classes,” said Johnson
Some students enjoyed the fact that they got to get out of the summer heat and have fun and cool off in the water with their friends and fellow students.
With so much praise, many students want to see other events the CAB has to offer, and they’re in luck. On August 25 the CAB is holding another event, this time in Round Rock Texas where the Round Rock Express take on the Salt Lake Bees in a minor league game. Students can get tickets for the event for free.
