The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s and women’s soccer teams hosted their home openers this past weekend, with both teams hoping to continue their quality starts to the 2023 season.
The women's team claimed victory over Ohio Northern University by a score of 1-0 on Saturday, with the lone goal scored by junior midfielder and captain Kelsey White. Junior goalkeepers Ainsley Westlake and Reagan Williams combined to keep a clean sheet, with Williams making two saves in the second half.
The men’s team stumbled in their home opener Friday night, losing to Texas Lutheran University by a score of 0-2. The Crusaders also dropped their next match against nationally ranked opponents St.Thomas University by a score of 0-2.
The women’s team will look to continue their three game winning streak as they travel to Georgetown tonight to take on the Southwestern Pirates at 7 p.m. The men’s team will look to bounce back when they host Austin College on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
