The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has officially launched a new student-athlete marketplace in cooperation with Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) platform Opendorse.
“It’s basically a one-stop shop for our student athletes, it makes it easy for them to stay safe, compliant, and make sure they’re getting paid” said Associate Athletic Director Rachel Acosta, who has been in charge of the project. This new easy-to-navigate platform has the potential to change lives for UMHB’s students-athletes and UMHB athletics, as having such an efficient platform will allow students to connect and find business opportunities much easier than before, and allow the university to sell Opendorse to future recruits.
The platform itself is very easy to navigate, with the user being able to filter our athletes by sport, role and price range. The user is able to see each athlete’s biography, affiliations, accolades, and additional background information. Each athlete has the option to list specific services or items for sale, such as autographs, social media posts, event appearances, or simply leave specific suggestions up to the user. You can visit the UMHB Opendorse NIL marketplace page at www.cruathletics.com/opendorse.
