Fall and spring semesters are 14 weeks long (or otherwise stated). Students sign-up for the entire semester.
Students will be enrolled only after full payment is received. Tuition may be paid with check, cash, money order, credit card (using the Planning Center Registrations system), or PayCentric payment plan.
Fall registration is held during the month of August, Spring registration during the month of November, and Summer registration is held in the month of April. Online registration is available by completing the required registrations and submitting payment with a credit card. Registration is also available in person in Room 208 of Presser Hall on the UMHB campus. The Conservatory Office is open from 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday.
The Conservatory offers a $10 discount for each additional family member enrolled in our program. Students enrolled in more than one activity will receive a $10 discount for each lesson, class and/or ensemble beyond the first. The $10 discount does not apply to students who receive Conservatory scholarships.

The Conservatory observes a NO MAKE-UP POLICY for student absences. Please notify the Conservatory Office by calling (254) 295-4686 if a lesson or class will be missed so that we may notify the instructor.
Students will receive make-ups for lessons or classes cancelled due to teacher absences or weather-related closings. Closing announcements will be recorded on the Conservatory's answering machine.
Each student who registers for lessons will be assigned a lesson time for the semester. Termination of lessons/classes/ensembles is appropriate only at the end of the semester or at the discretion of the Conservatory Director. There are no refunds except under extreme circumstance.
At least two solo recital dates are offered each semester. Students are encouraged (but not required) to perform. Students who perform in a Conservatory recital or concert are required to remain for the entire recital or concert out of respect for all of the performers. It is our desire that our students not only learn outstanding performance skills, but also proper audience etiquette.
Only two excused absences from Monday night rehearsals per semester are allowed. You must call the Conservatory office by 5 pm on Monday if your child's absence is to be excused. An absence will be excused if it is for illness, death in the family, or a school function.
Attendance at all dress rehearsals and concerts are mandatory for all choir members.
Summer Semester Policies
Summer students will be enrolled for the entire camp or for four or seven private lessons. Individual instructors should be contacted regarding private lesson schedule. Summer camps MUST have at least 4 students.
Tuition and fees are due prior to the beginning of the semester. All camp tuition and fees must be paid with cash or check at enrollment. Tuition for private lessons may be paid with check, cash or money order, credit card, or payment plan (automatic withdrawal of tuition only - 2 equal payments).
Register for summer camps and private lessons in the Conservatory Office (Room 208 - Presser Hall) the month of April, Monday - Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm. Contact the instructor about starting date.
To receive the discount, full payment must be received upon enrollment or no later than May 25. The first family member pays full tuition, additional family members receive a $10 discount. Students enrolling for more than one class receive a $10 discount for each class beyond the first. UMHB Faculty/Staff/Alumni qualify for reduced tuition rates.
